I am looking for free software for Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2402 for using with Windows XP Service Pack 2

Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2402

Dear Chewy,

Since i had some troubles with my laptop and the said DVD. It means that this device cannot read the disk even with CD or DVD, once i insert the CD/ DVD disk, it quotes like the following : (eventhough i cleaned the disk /CD/DVD-CDrom with the lense cleaning liquid)

"Windows cannot read from the disk. It maybe file corrupted or .... not compatible with Windows" > Recently, i used the function of Disk Defragment to defrag the dirvers so that i thought something wrong during that process. My DVD when operating seems "like cannot draw the disk" , some sounds occurred.

Pls help me settle this trouble

I was thinking firmware might help but from this page I see the drive came out almost 4 years ago, for optical drives that's too long ago.
