are you 100% sure i need an 80 conductor instead of 40 bc they dork at staples was 100% sure that i only needed a 40 conductor and that 80 was over kill!! but what do you think

        Ok her we go !!!

A.) the 25 dollar round 80 conductor IDE cable i bought is way way to short and doesnt come close to being long enough.

B.) I didnt make a difference it is just as slow as ever.

C.) i ruled out the possibility of a bad drive bc i ordered one for my sister 2 swaped them out and they do the same thing.

        D.) im officially frustrated.

          that's way too much $$$.

I just bought (3) 18" round ide 80 conductor cables at my local cyberwarehouse store for $10 ea.

Local office max has them for $14

          check for better pricing...

          regards, katz

well its a no go still slower then dirt DMA is on on both secondary and primary however its not applicable in 2 devices i just assume its because i unplugged the NEC and the old HDD. you running out of ideas yet bc im spent this is crazy

also there is a smaller 4 wire plug coming out of the 2 power supply cords that go to the burners does that need to be plugged into anything its just chillign there all by its lonesome??

do you think that this is just a slower drive then the NEC

does it have something to do with the spinup

should i send it back and get another one

I am not wasting my time on a POS drive, this drive got great reviews over at cd-freaks. Even if it's riplocked at a slower speed, it will make a much better ripper than the nec for older disks that are damaged.
