BIOS memory caching...

I've been getting occasional STOP ERRORS. The codes all indicate an unknown cause, possibly a driver conflict, and suggest disabling the BIOS memory caching or shadowing function. I looked in the BIOS but couldn't see a path to that function.

How do I do this?

Memory? I'm experienced with bad_pool_caller :>( and got a new 1gb stick of memory after using Microsoft's fancy memory test. This is a separate stop error, but I wanted to try disabling the caching any way.

CPU temp right now is 145F. I'll try ripping a few CDs and see what it is then.

Stick spd's & setting? Using 2 1GB sticks & 2 512MG.

Ripping uses my CPU, from very low rate to spikes in 80th percentile. Temps ran from 150F to 180F, with high usage & temp when a Symantec virus update come through while I was ripping.

now the trick is to find out what your motherboard is trying to run it at?

LOL - no manual. This is an off-the-shelf HP m1080n that I goosed up myself. If it helps, it is a ASUS Puffer 1.xx, with an Intel i915P/i915G (Rev. B1) chipset & Southbridge 82801FB (ICH6) -- with an American Megatrends 3.25 BIOS dtd 9/6/2005.
