    Help setting up home network?

I just bought a new PC and want to know how to network this one with the old one? Both PCs running XP SP2. I currently have them both hooked up to a Linksys 4port router that we use to share high speed internet. But not sure how to set them up to share files, folders and printer ect... Do I need to set up a firewall on both computers as well as virus, spyware, antispam protection software or can i just install it on one and still be protected? Anyone know of any guides to help?

You should install everything on both, although your router should have a good firewall once configured properly. You can buy all in one suites that will allow up to 3 or 4 computers for antivirus etc.

the main thing with networked computers behind a router with nat firewall,
hardware firewall, is to keep them all updated, one gets a virus and will infect the other if it's not updated.

        been there, done that

NAT solves most of the hacking problems but for others like virus, I suggest you install Sygate since it protects each individual desktop against hacking and virus spread + install an antivirus.
