Take a loan out and update your budget to $3500. and get the fastest internal parts you can find with the latest technology, because tomorrow your computer will be outdated.
I really wish I could haha moving out fixing my truck and trying to get a loan for an older car for work stretches the budget thin lol.

As for hardrives, SATA's are faster than the IDE's and running RAID_0 array will speed up loading times during games, BUT, if you chose to go that route, you have to understand, first, you have to use 2 indentical hardrives to do this, secondly, if one of the 2 harddrives fail, you lose everything on both
I was wanting to do Raid 0 but I wanted to do more research on it, like just how much more perfomance am I going to get out of it? In other words is it worth it in the end. But I also figured I could always just constantly back up my hard drives couldnt I? So if my raid drives fail I could posiblly still have another drive rdy to go right?

    Budreaux,
you might want to see this, I used to agree with what you said, however

that Power Supply is way overrated and not a good brand, check out the seasonic and antec truepower or fortron

          look at the 12volt values

don't go for exaggerated total watts

you might be burning a lot more than you think when you see what that computer will do

you are getting your feet wet very well

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931 - Power supply: Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, TUV, CB, FCC CLASS B, CUL

High 12v rates/ high rated hours/ 550w/ 12% neg feedbak }:> I was looking at a couple 3x 12v but they were rated at lower (a) and didnt have best feedback, I think I feel good with this one. What's Master Chewy think?

And I do need to upgrade my heatsink if I plan on overclocking correct? Most of the research i've read says stock heat sinks are sh^! ?

stock hsf are fine for running stock settings, spend around 50$ on an overclocking one. that could wait till later

the antec ps is a winner. a lot of overclockers and dvd burning gurus use them

see there's a ton of information at newegg, you just have to study it
