OK I finally figured out how to do a clean install of XP on my computer the one thing I am not sure of is the partition size my HD it's a WD 70 gig.I haven't had a chance to get a bigger one yet.
Thanks
Just look in Explorer on the drive where your op sys is installed. If you have SATA drives, use them for data and leave the opsys on its own on that 80Gb drive.
Gotcha
I did make one mistake I forgot to save all my programs on a back up CD and with me having dial up this is going to take an eternity redownload all that stuff
Thanks for the advice blu

Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
I keep all my install sources (if softcopy) on a different partition than the OS and do not save any files in the OS partition. That way I can format and install new OS in the OS partition without worrying about loosing any source installs.
I keep anything I want to hang on to off the c drive for just this reason. When and if a format\fresh install might be needed, ya don't hafta worry about finding and moving them or losing them.
3 hard disks here, 80GB, got 3 OS's, 2 linux and xp, no important data on them. 2nd hard disk (250GB) for dvb captures & large temp files, 3rd hard disk (300GB) for archives, installers, important data
