one problem after the next !!

so my roommates computer all the sudden has 3 primary channels only one of which says dma is available 3 secondary dma is available on 0 and 1 and the other 2 says it isnt available ?? why

i tried unistalling all but 2 of both but the computer just reinstalled them so now i have them disabled is this ok or whats going on here !

also there is 3 of the same standard dual channel PCI IDE controller in the device manager under the primary and secondary that i dont see listed on the report just let me know if there is anything else that you need.

I have seen a lot of serial drives(hard drives) that are running in some kind of
ide emulation mode from hp and other factory built computers that cause these duplicates, but that's a normal old ide pata hard drive. No idea past the
windows is headed south, some sort of problem from a conflict with virtual drive software or some funky driver loaded?
