      Here is an article...

I use both versions. Home on my desktop and pro on my laptop and IMHO I think Pro is a little better...it gives me more of a warm fuzzy feeling than home does.

From what I have been told, I have at least 13 more years of support with PRO. I don't know about Home.

The pre-installed versions of Home are often crippled for the specific system mfr. so that, if you change a major piece of hardware, or de-install certain software, the OS will stop working until you restore the system to factory specs. I hate XPH with a passion, and you can get XP64 for just a few bucks more: NewEgg was selling it for $140 last month at the same time XPH was $110 & XPPro was $138.

one of the reasons i hate home and now MCE 2005 that it cannot join domains, dontknow why microsoft does that with Mce 2005 as with previous versions MCE was an extension to XP Pro.
Also now so many dual cores are on way cheap, and home edition not supporting dual processor i dont know what will happen....

also anyone know if MCE 2005 supports dual processor or dual core?
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

pro IMO has more/better features for a network, I've also been told pro is supposed to be more secure

I have xp pro and yes its suppose 2 b more secure. I agree that it is, but nothing is 100% secure because of changing technology. imo.
