The driver detected a controller error on \Device\CdRom0
I hooked both drives up to 1 IDE cable set the 109 as master and changed the jumpers on the problematic 107D to slave.
I would have done this identical setup a long time ago if I thought it was possible to connect 2 dvd burners on the 1 IDE cable. Plus I now only have 1 chunky IDE cable in my case restricting airflow rather than 2. Im Happy.
Still none the wiser to the original problem but dont care anymore as this solution is more efficient.
