I have an additional Hard Drive I can install and a dvd rom(reader) that are gathering dust and would like to implement them to increse effeciency. After reading around I want to make sure I do things right.
My instincts tell me to set the additional hard drive on the the primary cable with cable select and run the DvD rom on the secondary cable along with the burner. I've seen a few posts by expert Chewy that this is wrong but can't find any info on how to go about doing this. I'm new and overwhelmed still by all the info here.
I would like the most effecient setup without toasting anything. I have a primary and secondary IDE cable and really don't have the dough to sink in the system. Thanks in advance for all the advice and suggestions.
