mpeg2 has no sound

Can anybody help please?

I have recently bought a Sony DCR-SR90E (HDD model) and have created my first mpegs from recordings ... but they have no sound (using Apple's mpeg2 quicktime plug-in on a Mac G4). The same video clips play back fine (with sound) on the camcorder.

Is there something else I need to obtain in order to get the audio working?

You need an AC3 program.

Try AC3filter (It should be on Digital Digest page.)
