All Programs

As we all know, All Programs in Windows 98 is one single list of software that we can scroll up and down as an endless list. Also, as we all know, All Programs in Windows XP is a side-by-side list of software. I have reached my forth list but I can only see half of the titles of software in the fourth list. I thought there would be two arrows to pan left and right the way Windows 98 has two arrows to scroll up and down. At the moment in my fourth list, I can tell what is what. What do I do if I reach a 5th list? Is there a way to reveal all the software titles in All Programs? Sometimes when we install software they don't add shortcuts on our Desktop and we have to go into All Programs and right-click on the software title to manually create a shortcut. That can't be done if the 5th list is hidden. This is why there could be a problem unless anyone has an idea.

Yeah! Create & Title your own folders, drag & drop like programs into one folder. For example; Make "Video" folder, then drag all related programs (Nero, DVDD, Shrink, etc.) into it. Makes things very tidy!

If I create a folder and title it with the same name as some software, do you mean I can drag the software title from All Programs into my created folder where also the Uninstall option will go in there? If so that would help. I use a lot of software and I have a lot of disk space. My All Programs has a lot in it.

Here's what I do;
R/click Start button> Click explore > Click on progams to open it.

Then make new folders there with the appropiate titles, such as audio, video, printer, utilities, internet, etc. Then close out of that, go back to your program list like you usually do to open a program.

Drag the main program folders over into the custom ones you just created. If you drag the main program folder over, all the associated files will go with it too. (Such as help, uninstall, etc.)

After you are all done that, you can also Rclick anywhere on the main list of programs & click "sort by name", & it will line them up alphabetically for you.

Chester is a little doll! That is a "Scottish Fold". I love the way they always look like they are mad, because of the "pinned ears" appearance!

I find it faster to do it that way since I can drag/drop/delete/add groups instead of 1 at a time. It also allows quicker & more accurate organization of what's in All Users, Default User, and your own personal log-on's program list. That also goes for the Desktop & Favorites.

I managed to do it. I found out with four rows, software with no arrow on its right-hand side like Yahoo Mail can't be moved because when you right-click the list is different, it's the same as when you right-click on a folder and there's no Explorer option listed. That's not a problem because most software have arrows with them.

You don't have to right-click an item to move it; you can just click & drag it through the menus & drop it where you want it.
