Spti layer

I am almost sure that this problem is related to my motherboard. When booting appears a screen with my dvd burners related to jmicron.com.
I have to investigate further...

Can anyone tell me if AnyDVD is unloaded why it is still resident?

we are in uncharted territory here
new intel chipset, e-serial and lord knows what drivers asus patched together and put out. scuzzi emulation mode that anydvd hosed? A wild guess is all I can come up with. Durn bleeding edge stuff that will get straightened out with time.

asus isn't loading a driver page for me, I would tell whoever loaded this computer to fix it

My ide drives are under JMicronJMB36X Controller.

that explains a lot, I ran accross something a few weeks ago about that controller and a lot of problems like yours?

I am beginning to wish this was an ImgBurn problem, my crystal ball says we are going to see a lot more of this in the near future as intel drops support for ide drives

I have a couple of more practical questions:

1. Does RipIt4Me work? It seems so from post 1
2. Can you burn successfully? Try to burn an RW with ImgBurn.

Yes it works well, I can read and write without problem.
I was only curious to know why ripit4me says "spti layer unavailable".

there are new drivers which support atapi better

So everything is clear now: I have uninstalled the JMicronJMB36X Controller drivers and now Ripit4me says SPTI layer available.
