Playing .avi file

I just downloaded a .avi movie through a torrent. And this is my first time doing so. But I cannot play it with windows player since its not supported. I can hear the sounds but not view the picture. My file name looks like this (movie name) - 1 CD - PDVDrip - XviD - VR4Mobile.VR4Network.avi

Can someone please help?
