Hi.. Can anybody tell me if a broadband modem from one ISP will work with a different ISP, provided each has its own ISPs software loaded. Please note, this is a UK setup, not USA.

Reason is a friend has signed up to AOL but modem wont connect. I have a spare Tiscali modem which works and wondered if this would work maybe temporarily. Thanks.

Usually it should work provided you know how to configure it properly. But ISP's will not support other modems than what they provide due to their knowledge and compatibility issues with the HUB.
