Movie is missing, and can't delete empty folder.

I started burning movies onto my hard drive. And I noticed that after a certain amount of time, the folders the movies were in became empty. What I did was, make folders titles ABC, DEF, GHI, and so on. And then place apropriate movie in each file. For instance I put Forrest Gump into DEF. Well, after a while, the Forrest Gump folder suddenly becomes empty. And if I try to delete it, I get an error message saying I can't. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem? I get the feeling that the file is still on my hard drive, as I haven't recovered any free'd up memory as the result of these movies just up and dissapearing.

I don't know why the DVD deleted itself. If the DVD is a large file, it won't go in the Recycle Bin because it's too big for that. Have you scanned for viruses and Spyware encase you're infected with anything that deletes files? If you can't delete a folder when you want, where there's a message saying the folder is either used by somebody else or another program, reboot and try deleting again. I have that folder deleting problem sometimes. Sometimes it won't delete straight after a reboot but it does a few days later. If you still can't delete, wait a few days and try again. When the message says about the folder being used by somebody else and you have no router with another PC in the house, don't worry about a hacking because it's not that, Microsoft mention about somebody else using it as an alternative reason encase of somebody sharing a folder through a router. If it's on somebody else's screen in the same house you'll have to wait until it's not used anmore, just like if you use Microsoft Word and you have a document opened, you can't delete the document if it's still open.

    Darren.

Try Unlocker to delete that empty folder AFTER you make sure it is safe to do so.
