    If you have an integrated sound card then the appropriate drivers should be included in the CD that came with your motherboard. Do you have it?

          Yes! It has to be exact, I tried entering the ASUS #, came up with zip.

          I was led to this after entering the audio card info you provided.

          Can likely just use generic AC'97 driver if you can't locate the proper one.

          Due to the variety of different AC'97 codecs that are available, Intel does not offer AC'97 reference audio drivers for public download. Please refer to the system or motherboard manufacturer for any driver downloads or updates.

              Are you certain you have the model # right?
              What is the series? (Socket)

              I have an older ASUS mobo with integrated sound and they don't update the driver's often.
              Have you tried updating the driver through Device Manager and using a generic compatibly AC'97 driver?

                probably an oem board

                Puffer M-UL8E
                but then there were also grouper/goldfish etc versions of this hp/compaq board

                support/drivers from the company not asus

                  Chewy, Dan - I also came up with this link for drivers for this sound card;
                  Installs the integrated audio driver for Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® High Definition Audio

                  Look good?
