HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GWA4040N DVD playback proble

I accidently uninstalled a spinoff version of PowerDVD (powerdvd dx 5.1 which is not a commercial release) suited specifically for dell laptops DVD playback.

Now I cannot play DVDs anymore as my DVD encoder is mising, Dell does not supply the sofware anymore and it was not pre-installed on my system.

Can anyone pls help as to find the right DVD encoder?? I tried all sorts of 3rd party DVD software but no success.

Have you tried MPC or VLC, they are both free and excellent for DVD playback.
