DVR to PC File Transfer...DVR almost FULL

DVR: Motorola DCT6412 III
PC: Dell Inspiron 8200
USB CABLE: BELKIN EASY TRANSFER CABLE FOR WINDOWS VISTA
OS: WINDOWS XP PRO
(Yes I know I bought a USB to USB cable ment for WINDOWS VISTA, but I figured it would still work.

PROBLEM: Trying to get some shows off of my DVR becuase it is almost full and I havent had time to watch everything.

What do I need to buy/download to get these shows to transfer to my PC? Is it possible? The DVR has a USB port in the front so I figured this would work out good, but I cannot get my PC to even recongize the DVR box at all.

Any suggestions would be very helpful and thank you for your time in advance, I appreciate it!!

The only way I have found to do this is to have a DVD recorder/VCR connected to the Motorola cable box. It does work out fairly well.

There are ways to get your shows onto your computer, but this forum isn't a site for discussing those methods.
Best advice I can offer is to search the web and find the other sites.
