K-Lite Codec Pack and Pinnacle PCTV

I have Pinnacle PCTV 5.50 software installed on my windows xp pro sp2 system and recently installed K-Lite Codec Pack with media player classic
and suddenly i lost the option to chose the audio output in pinnacle audio settings. I can hear the sound from my pinnacle pctv but cannot control it
    from pinnacle software.

When i uninstall the K-Lite Codec Pack and open the pinnacle software the option in audio settings is back, but when close the pinnacle software and
open again the option is gone again.

any help and ideas besides reinstalling windows ????

    thanks in advance

You could try a system restore

reinstall the pinnacle software and any updates

then try ffdshow as a codec if that doesn't work

Do you mean the option is gone completely? Can you post a screenshot? Not sure whether the codec pack is the cause of this, especially if a system restore did not help.

I would check the voltage rails in bios and suspect PS first, something's probably corrupting the hard drive, is it a raptor?

but like I said it could be many things,

bad loads from old wornout optical drives?

My optical drives are old models but working fine in any use until now.
A few weeks a go i change my RAM and PSU with new ones. Someone told me that 350W for my config
is small and for the ram i took 2x512mb for the dual channel support.

                            ok
                            it's done

I install a fresh copy of windows xp in a second partition that i create (shrink option in vista disk management) in vista hdd.
At the moment i can logon only in vista so i have to recreate the boot loader so i can boot in tow operating systems.

I think VistaBootPRO will do the job. Or it's another easy way to do it from vista interface ???
