Ripit4me crashed while trying to back up Flushed Away. I updated ripit4me to the newest version, and got an error message that the PSL file wasn't imported by Decrypter. I have tried re-downloading all programs but continue receiving the same messages. I have tried other movies as well and also get the same messages. I did not get the PSL file message with the older version of ripit4me. Please help!

When this happens, simply highlight the PSL in the window and import it manually. Does the DVD Decrypter log show any dummy sectors inserted? If not, you're free to go!

Thank you for you help. I manually imported the PSL files and that worked great, but for some reason ripit4me crashes while I'm using DVD Shrink. Do you know what causes this or how to prevent it from happening?Comment

RipIt4Me is done when it launches Dvd Shrink. Tell us exactly what is happening while you are using Dvd Shrink?

About 10 secs into analizing, shrink freezes up and my screen looks like it's being scrambled with parts of my screen flashing. I haven't downloaded anything new on my computer that wouldn't have been compatible w/ Shrink. I tried re-installing the program and using it without ripit4me but it continues to happen. I have to manually shut down my computer and re-start. When I open ripit4me I get a message that says it crashed last time and report a debuglog. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!Comment

Is this a Laptop?
You have alot of processes running, can you close some of them down and try Shrink again?

Well I have a PC, not a laptop, and I turned it off and let it sit overnight to make sure it wasn't overheated, everything was up to date, nothing new downloaded, I turned off enable preview in Shrink and defragged the hard drive. It worked on Flushed Away after that with no problems, but then when I went to do Flags of our Fathers, I got the same problem, freezing up and scrambled screen. I'm not sure what else to try, and I'm no expert with computers. If it had been working great in the past, why an error all of a sudden?Comment

Also,does this include windows update?nothing new downloaded
You could also unistall Shrink, then reload. I don't think this will help as you said it started working again then stopped.

to interpret that mess with this computer I will copy and paste one of the
services running from the ripit debug log into a google search
load enough of this kind of useless crap on a computer and all hell breaks loose
to test overheating just take the side off the case and direct a small fan into itComment

Well, I have tried the suggestions on the link given to me, and DVD Shrink still freezes. I decided to use Nero's Recode instead. Problem solved, right? WRONG! Now my DVD drive doesn't even recognize the disc. I put the disc in, the light flashes, disc spins, then stops, light goes off, and nothing. The disc drive shows no disc inserted, but in the drive properties it shows no free space, as if the disc is there. It also shows that the device is working properly, which it's not! I have no idea what the problem is, other than I bought a Dell.Comment

there's a lot of stuff running, you could turn most of it off and test then after
you fix the problem turn one thing back on at a time
in the trade we usually just disable everything then see what won't work
it's quicker and easier than finding one bad program in 20Comment
