soup's was off, turn yours back on, dvdd and other programs can also turn it off

      it's on my default

turn off verify, no point in verifing and scanning both

          just to try?

guess it's all up to us to run this to ground?

I'll try it........one burner works fine with the current settings, one doesnt, no clue what the problem is

I won't bother you with it anymore.

Of the reading I have done on this error, the common denominator is firmware. I know this is not ImgBurn but we all know what ImgBurn is.

              Solution:

              Update firmware
              DMA
              Crappy media
              Burn slower

You also might find this interesting, again I know it is not ImgBurn.

Thanks Soup, I've read that before and Ive googled it, read about it on cdfreaks, and ImgBurn forums, seems to be a difficult problem, so many variables.

I have the newest firmware, dma on, using sony mij's ty02, and am only burning at 4x

It will work a few times then the error, then reboot or unplug and it works, oh well.....lol....I have definately come to the conclusion that it's not ImgBurn as well....so I'll quit wasting peoples time with this problem.

I'll just flash it back to the HP firmware and use it as a reader, lol....i'll pick up another burner sooner or later, my other lite-on is working great

It is never a waste of time trying to solve a good problem IMHO.

                        I can try the 8x only.....ive tried ty's at 4x and 8x and verbatims at 8x.....all dvd+r

Im using ty's from the same spindle in my other liteon burner and they are working fine

what i dont get is the burning some of the time problem, then pce error, then unplug power directly from the drive, or reboot and it works

thought about trying the HL05 instead of the HL06 firmware.....just for sh*ts and giggles, but I dont want to flash this thing too many times

thanks Night, I've flashed it three times already, once with both burners installed from safe mode, once just in windows, and once with only the problematic burner installed in the system, from safe mode

I bought a new cable Saturday evening and replaced it, but havent redone the flash since installing the new cable
