When running at this high a resolution, a lot of the text on webpages is so small that it is difficult to read.

Problem is, if I change to a smaller resolution, then I run the chance of the blurry screen. Anyone here experience this, & if so, what can I do about it? I can't really increase font size in the browser settings, because if I do, all of the text size increases at the same time & ends up being a jumbled mess!

There must ne something that can be done; I can't imaging that everyone out there at home/ in the office, etc., can comfortably use a monitor this size with such small text.

Try Control Panel-->Display Settings-->Settings-->Advanced and adjusting the DPI

Already been there, anony; Have it set to large size. I temporarly set screen resolution down to 1024x768, & of course that increases font size, but now I have a blurry text issue! I can't seem to hit a happy medium.

This type of screen makes gaming awesome, though! (my son says!)

          Doesn't it have any effect?

Definitely, but avoid games by EA. 2007 and their releases still don't support widescreen

It does, yes. My problem is more with small text on webpages, etc. For example, in the upper right area of the forum screen where your username is; all of that text is very small when I run the native res. of 1680x1050.

Right now, I am experimenting & have it set to 1152x864. Text size is pretty much readable at the 1152x864 setting, but I am having a bit of "blurred" text at this size. It is "tolorable", I guess, but it is not crisp & clear like I would like it to be...

That's something you can change in your browser. Don't know about IE, but with Firefox for example, you can set a minimum size for any font displayed.

I will look into that, but I don't think you can set font sizes other than this way in I.E. -

Problem is, when you change that setting, the larger text on the page gets all jumbled & sometimes runs off the edge of the screen. Right now, for comfortable (size) viewing, I am set at 1152x864, & I am dealing with blurry text.

I will continue to play with settings, to see what I can accomplish, but I know I can't live with a blurry monitor after all these years of have a good old clear CRT! I just can't believe that after all this time, the technlogy isn't "there" yet...

anony - others? I am still dealing with this issue; At 1680x1050, the desktop, start menu, etc., is just too small to comfortably view.

If I set the res. to say, 1280x1024, then I get "fuzzy fonts". Is there any way to remedy this situation? I am using the latest drivers from nvidia (6 mo. old)

Aside from what has already been suggested, and maybe trying the Cleartype tuner, I'm fresh out of Ideas. Sorry.
