I got this error after my computer did a automatic update? I guess it has something to do with my sound? It comes up after windosw starts up. Any one know how to correct this?

HHCTRL.OCX is part of the windows help system. Try a system restore.

Ive tried twice and both times it was unable to successfully restore to an earlier point. Isnt XP suppose to automatically create a restore point before an update or install of new hardware?Comment

I had a problem once with the help system. This was a while ago, but IIRC, I deleted HH.DAT and it was OK. Search for this file on your system and rename it to something else. See if that helps.

MY computer didnt come with one. But i had to make somw recovery dvd disks when i first set up my computer?Comment
