    Mouse, Trackball or other?

    Which do you use/prefer?

I know, kinda plain object we don't usually think much about, not as exciting as a flat panel monitor, but anyway...

For many years I have used a corded trackball, simply because they don't get "gunked up" & end up sticking the way a mechanical mouse does - very aggravating!

    Attach pics if you want!

I bought an el cheapo HP cordless laser mouse from Wally World last year and it seems to do the job...no gunk here.

I lied...it's a cordless optical, which is what I voted for.

How long, (on average) does batteries last in it? Do you use the battery monitor software?

I don't use the monitoring software...this is a rechargable unit. I lost the original batteries somehow (two year old boy in the house might know what happened to them) and have used regular AA batteries which will last 3-4 weeks on average, but I'm currently using some RadioShack rechargables that are on their 4th week.

EDIT: For some reason the cradle charger won't work with other batteries....or either it it worn out and just won't charge anything.

I bought this mouse about a year ago. Went from corded optical to cordless optical. No complaints here, I find the scroll button is very smooth and full of features.

I have a cordless optical that came with my computer ($65 upgrade, keyboard and mouse set).

Now I hate it because when my parents want me to get off the computer they just take the mouse and keyboard out of my room

I bought a wired set, $3.99 for both keyboard and mouse, but I don't wanna use that unless my parents aren't around.

I tried several cordless opticals but got tired of changing batteries. Now I use a plain old wired optical.

I use 2AA rechargeable with mine (good ones), might have to change every 3 months or so.
Can't remember last time I changed them, so they last long enough I guess, lol.
