Has anyone with a Sony DRX-830U successfully set their booktype to DVD-ROM?

I don't know if this will help you or you might have already seen it, but since Sony was the example I thought I would post it. In ImgBurn if you go in to booktype & you click advance on the left hand side, the following is what you get.
The following is the full text in that last window.
Instructions:
1. Select the REAL manufacturer of your drive in the 'Drive OEM' drop down box.
2. Type in the ID string of your drive as it is visible within the main program window.
Each ID String should be on it's own line and with no leading/trailing spaces.
Example:
Drive OEM: Samsung [TSSTcorp]
Drive ID String: SONY DVD RW DRU-830A
That is to say, the Sony DRU-830A drive is really a Samsung drive and the program should use Samsung booktype functions to control it.

Even read and done this thread.Last edited by 2COOL; 15 Apr 2007, 02:01 PM.2CL C Henshin!

The disk info wont appear as a dvd-rom when its empty
it shows it as a dvd+r up there, even after its burnt..... scroll down and look at Physical Information (last recorded), it should say dvd-rom if it workedLast edited by beachbumm33; 15 Apr 2007, 02:15 PM.Comment
