Assuming the encoding was done to spec, you should be able to watch it through the normal media playback functions of the Xbox 360 - you'll need Windows MCE/Vista or to install WMP 11 and enable media sharing or have your own UPnP server (eg. using TVersity). More information here:

I think you can just burn to CD/DVD, copy to a USB drive or copy to the Xbox 360 memory unit and then use it on your main Xbox 360 console (use the console's built in drive, which is a DVD reader drive).

Remember, you have to have the dashboard update from last October for this to work.

Here's an excerpt from the Xbox website (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...iewvideo.htm):

To view video from a data disc:

From the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Video, Current Disc.
Select the video you want to play.
            Select Play.

You need to have the Xbox 360 Fall update that was released last year. Not sure what you mean by your dashboard always updating itself. Since you have the HD DVD drive, you should already have the update, otherwise the drive won't work. You should have been prompted to update when you log into Xbox Live (more information here: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/hardware/x.../download.htm).
