    DMA Confused

I have always assumed that my DMA was on.

I was looking over my NerO log and it said that it was off on my 2 optical drives as well as my hard drive.

I first noticed it on a log from a CD I compiled, reset my DMA per Jmet's guide, and burned a DVD to test.

It still say's off. Do I trust Nero?

    Is there a better test?

I do not have any noticeable issues.

I wonder if this Nvidia ATA controller is messing things up??

You have let BIOS select transfer mode checked.

Is your BIOS configured the way you want it? It may need some tweaking.

your 4x burn took 13 minutes on almost full disk, everything is fine
that 2.6 version is recent and whql certified

if it ain't broke don't fix it, but at the first sign of trouble either look for an update or rollback to sp2's default driver

Thanks for the piece of mind.

        Nero just threw me off.
