i'm having problems getting e-mail notification from the forum ever since firefox was downloaded to new version. it's also slower now too. i went through this thread, but honestly right now i don't know what to do and not too much time to do it. can you guys just please give me a quick pick me up list of tips to at least make this work faster/safer. thnx.

I just upgraded to 2.0.0.8 today and have not noticed any difference. It is slow right now because it is before 9PM in North America and generally internet traffic is at its heaviest.

But to be a the safe side, I would scan with a couple of antivirus and spyware programs to make sure that your computer is not infected.

Then look at the links in my signature (beside Windows XP) and see how many extra unneeded programs are running.

thnx gary. your right. it is faster right now. it's 11:17 pm eastern time usa. ran my antivirus programs. everything ok. i don't know where or what that signature thing is you suggested. can you or any of the fellas pick me up on this?

i got it gary. thnx. i need to rest a lil. doing too much too quick. yes i did go through and use the power user guide and free up memory sticky last week or so. made some final tweeks last couple of days.

I found out that Internet Explorer is as useful as a jetboat without an engine. That Explorer caused me a lot of problems. With Firefox, I love the way they give loads of updates to help us more. Microsoft are lousy at that.

my e-mail notifications are sporadic. sometimes i'll get some, but most times i'll come to the forum to check on any replies. admin suggested that maybe a firewall is preventing them from getting through. if that's the case, can any of you suggest anything either in regards to this happening whether through a firewall or not.

i'm using ZoneAlarm. it's working fine. i just don't want to go messing w/it if i don't have to, especially being that i don't know what to do anyway.

No-Script done. Adblock next. 1 ?. So it's by blind faith that we're letting the scripts through on our so-called Trusted Sites? Well I guess we have to trust something. Whether on our own, or as recommended by the www. Nothing's fool proof, and more security is better than some, or none.
