That's bad, most of those sites aren't very safe. I hope he doesn't go there with IE,lol.

I'm using FF now and the noscript add on too. The white list is nice and the temporary allow is good also.
I got the popup notice for scripts disappearing after 5 seconds.
The only thing so far I miss from IE is the icons for the websites I visit. It seem most of the sites I have in my favorites/bookmarks do not have icons for them that work in FF. Or maybe I did something wrong I duuno. Not registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

I just created a bookmark for this and it showed up in bookmarks with the sheet of paper thingie.
Edit - Thanks again Dan - seems some sites including this one won't get the icon but some will. I just went to about a dozen sites from my bookmarks and the sheet of paper went away and now I have an icon for themLast edited by jm1647; 29 May 2007, 11:18 PM.Not registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

That's strange, I have a DVF icon on my bookmarks.
Perhaps it is the theme? Have you tried any yet, there are some real nice ones and they have there own default bookmark icons. Noia 2.0 (extreme) and Metal Lion - Vista are 2 of my fav's.

Same here, but now I try to limit to about 5 max. Otherwise I have themes installed that are ready and waiting on the bench, but never get the call.
I love the whole Mozilla family, Thunderbird is great, I also like Sunbird. Haven't tried Lightning but it looks like a good fit for T-Bird.
loco, you ever play around with about:config ? Great for tweaking.Last edited by Dan; 30 May 2007, 04:27 AM.

I love that feature, no way I would prefer firefox over IE and having to change without that extra safety, it's a PITA at first till you get used to it.
I allow what minimal scripts I need for regular sites and when I inadvertly go where the danger is higher, I am protected from maliscous programming.
Some sites have up to 5 scripts trying to run when you go there, just seeing what's up is enough to make me say "so long" and "no thanks".

jm you are absolutely right, stupid me. I don't have one in the bookmarks only toolbar folder.
But I agree some sites do and some don't have any icon at all. That default icon is quite ugly IMO, that's one good thing about themes.
Another strange thing, you can "grab" the icon from the address bar to place it in bookmarks, but as you say it becomes default icon with proper link.

I've used the about:config a few times Dan, but I have everything the way I want it and tend to screw things up when I go messin around with the nuts and bolts.
I have icons in my bookmarks...also some themes I have installed.

And I did forget to mention that the icon also appears in the toolbar. Don't really matter with the icons though, I'll get used to not having some colored for the pages that don't get them in FF if that icon tip don't workNot registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums
