Does labeling backed up games mess up the quality?

I backed up a game i own and it worked for a bit but then the xbox 360 wouldnt read it. So i tore off the label i created and now it works good and it seems like it even loads faster.

Does the lable degrad the quality or increase the likelihood it wont work?

Labels tend to knock off the balance of the disc. It basically makes the jitter so high it can't accurately ready the disc. If you are going to label the discs, buy ones that ALREADY have the label on them and use a printer that can print directly on them.

Many do these days, all price ranges. I own a *cheaper* one, Epson R220, that does a great job of printing on CD/DVD.

              Hi Maddawg,

Labeling ... as mentioned before Will make your CD/DVD play off-balance. But even worse ... Label's Glue will shrink over time and WARP your CD or DVD.

Best Practice in my experience ... and believe me I have read pages and pages on this topic ... is Good Old "Sharpie" for CD/DVD Marker.

Yeah it does not "Look" really fancy ... but it won't screw-up your backup either.

              G!
