Beeps!!!!

Hi Folks. My PC has started giving 3 beeps about every 30 seconds, even if just on but nothing running.
Everest tells me Mb is 42c, CPU 59 idle, and 63 mild use in Paint Shop Pro manipulating photos. HD is 39c...CPU fan 2892rpm.
Its started annoying me, any ideas please. Ambient room temp 20c.......Thanks again.....

if not then it's probably a warning from bios that your cpu is running too hot

Thanks Chewey. I noted that as soon as I started up the CPU was at 53c,doing nothing after startup !! Fan speed seems all over the place, will have to take the bloody thing apart....

Vac out the inevitable kilogram of dust Tony - particularly between the fins of the fans. Every 6 months, do this.

And buy a high quality CPU fan. Some of the sh1t they supply in the interests of cost down is atrocious.

Thanks Blu....Have now discovered I only get the bleeps when online !!
ran it for two hours yesterday using PSP etc, fairly intensive photo work, still got bloody hot, but no bleeps till went online. Stopped as soon as offline.
Re better CPU fan. Is it easy to fit, are they all same fitting, or special to CPU ?? Dont doubt its all clogged up as I smoke a fair bit when using !!!

download the trial version I linked to, don't worry it doesn't install anything

now under computer > overclock

up at the top then use Report>Quick Report>Plain text

select the portions I posted showing your mobo and cpu
copy and paste into reply


now do the same for sensor

ok the redline(think tachometer) for your cpu is 60-65C

but verify those temps with coretemp?

if it agrees with everest then try opening the case and point a fan into it and check again

room temp, mobo temp and cpu temp

trying to isolate if the case is too hot or the cpu fan is crappy?

to copy and paste, take your mouse(left click) and select this part, then with the text highlighted right click on it and hit copy

put your mouse in the reply window and hit paste(right click again)

further note, my room temp is 32C, mobo only 5C above that, my cpu(similar family/heat characteristics)
is just 41C
