    BenQ DW1655 firmware

The current firmware vs is BCIB. Is this the correct firmware version? It used to be BW??, but I may have accedentially flashed it to a older version.

Sidenote, on my PC this Benq drive is really picky as it want's to be on it's own cable as master with no slave, and be in an IDE slot. The other is a NEC 3550a

    Hi Lemonyx,

That is odd about your side note and BenQ being a "Picky" burner ... in my experience ... that is the ONLY WAY to go for burners and readers ... so you might have some other issues ... may be your Desktop needs tuning !?!?

Anyway, for BenQ 1655 your BCIB firmware is the latest that I have seen ... and it WORKS.

FYI, In my desktop I have BenQ 1640 with F/W BSRB and a BenQ 1655 with F/W BCIB. My 1640 I have set to my Primary (0) and my 1655 set to my Secondary (1) ... and my reasoning for this choice is I wanted my "Reader" 1640 to run the fastest and my "Burner" 1655 to run as it wants.

I do use my 1655 as a reader from time to time when the 1640 chokes or acts up some "Trouble" dvd's.

Hope I have answered your Q.

Thank's for the info. I'm sure the PC needs a tune-up, got any ideas?

Since putting this PC together, it's been a learning experience, especially with SATA's and PATA"S, RAID and the different combo's in the bio's. Then there's OCing.
