Don't know if it will ever run well for you dazuk.
I'm managing with it. Today I was stocking up my ammo in Vice City and I pressed Escape to pause the game while I made a cup of tea and when I got back to my game, when I pressed Escape to resume the screen went black and it stayed black and I had to reboot. Luckily I wasn't doing a mission.

Rockstar aren't very good with porting games over to the PC unfortunately, which is a shame because I think the GTA games play better on a PC with a keyboard/mouse setup (except for the flying bits).

To my knowledge, Activision and EA Sports have best graphics. I've always known Rockstar have back technology for graphics. I wish Activision made the GTA games. I can't include EA Sports on that because the GTA games are not sports games as we all know.

I must add, Rockstar have got a better thing going for GTA 4 as the XBox 360 and the PS3 versions. I have the XBox 360 ready for GTA 4.

What kind of computer do you have, in particular, the CPU, graphics card and the operating system?

Have you tried the tips I've posted here?

Try to turn the frame limiter option on/off, and see what happens.
