Windows Live Messenger

Does anyone know why I can never log into my Windows Live Messenger? When I enter my MSN e-mail address and password and click on Log In, nothing happens. It's as if the Log In icon isn't connected to anything. When I click on the ticks and re-enter, about 60% of my password deletes itself. I remember this happening before and it only worked with a three-year-old ID but I can't use that because it's heavily invaded with Spam and it drives me mad. Now this is. Other people have told me they have the same problem. It started when Microsoft changed MSN Messenger to Windows Live Messenger.

I have read a few things about deleting the reg key shown below. Not sure if this duplicates your problem, but it's worth checking out.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies
