Anyone use Goldwave or similar audio editor? "Click" problem...

I am using Goldwave to edit unwanted sections from audio clips. What I do is; Select/isolate the portion that I want to remove, set beginning/end markers, click "delete". The problem is, at the deleted spot, I now get a light "click" noise. Any way around this? Is there a better way to edit that I won;t have this happening?

I think I have isolated the problem with this; When removing the portion that is unwanted, do not use "delete"; Use the "cut" command instead. That seems to have remedied the problem. Just thought I'd give an update in case anyone else is suffering from the "unwanted click syndrome"!

I have...& I am trying to use that w/ Linux...But, on my windows pc, I have Goldwave, which I purchased years ago & I like using it. Problem is, I haven't used it in so long that I forgot how to do the editing w/out getting that click! But all is okay now.
