I've been trying to install the Windows XP Service Pack 2 in one of my computers with no success thus far. I was able to install the service pack in my Dell computer, but was unable to install it in my HP computer. My HP seems to freeze up during the installation. Is there something I should know about installing the service pack in an HP computer. Am I missing something here? Any help greatly appreciated!!!

SP2 for xp is an iffy operation, first it's best if your computer has a clean install of xp, not corrupted or infected etc, also make sure your bios is the latest
you might try safe mode, maybe then all the crud that tries to load at startup in normal mode won't interfer
I always used the administrative install(2-300MB)
