Wal-Mart to offer PS3 40GB with free $50 gift card

Wal-Mart stores this week will offer Sony Corp.'s 40GB Playstation 3 SKU with a free $50 gift card according to an internal employee memo.The offer will be part of a storewide Secret In-Store Special promotion from Dec. 7 to Dec. 8.
In the promotion period, buyers who purchase the 40GB PS3 SKU will receive a free $50 gift card instantly.

Lots of good PS3 deals going around at the moment.

There's one here in Australia that if you exchange your old PS2 plus 12 games, you get get a $200 discount on the PS3 (from $699 to $499, still expensive compared to the US though). A lot of people are actually buying pre-owned PS2s or adding a few more cheap games to the ones they already have just to get the discount, sometimes at the same store that's offering this deal.
