Problem with USB video capture device

    Hello,

I just purchased the Geniatech One Touch Grabber which is a video capture device. The install of the drivers and software went smoothly. Trying to capture video from the RCA out connections of a VCR the Grabber software has a black screen and no sound. It's as though no signals are coming from the VCR. My computer meets all the hardware and software requirements of the device. Also, the device does not appear under Imaging devices in the Device Manager. It does appear under Sound, video and game controllers as UTV2820 Device.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

Go thru the install CD & confirm that all necessary drivers are installed, if there is more than one. Also, what OS are you using? SP2 installed? Are you sure you have USB 2.0? I see that is in the requirements for this device.

I finally got it to work. For some reason it will not work in the USB inputs on the front of my computer but it will work with the ones on the rear of the computer. Any idea why this would be? It's a bit of a hassle to get to the rear of the computer.

Posibly wired wrong, need to try another USB device on the front ports, that you know works.

I have no problem using flash drives on the front ports. I have read where sometimes the front ports are 1.1 while the rear ports are 2.0. This would explain things.

That is also a possibility, which is one thing that I forgot.
