Broadband Keeps Going Off

At first I thought my ISP was faulty but I found out it isn't. I use Broadband and it's been fine for years and I've been using Bit Comet for about two years and everything has been fine. Since yesterday, everytime I start downloading through Bit Comet my Broadband connection keeps shutting off and I have to keep shutting down my PC, rebooting my cable modem and booting back up to get my Broadband working again. As soon as I use Bit Comet again my Broadband goes off again. I don't know why this has happened out of the blue while using Bit Comet. Does anyone have any ideas that can help, please?

Has there been any firmware updates done on the cable modem with in the last couple of days. Who is your ISP. It sounds like that there is a software conflict some how.
