Does it show up in my computer? Is this a slave drive only and is the jumper pin in the right position?

No it does not show in my computer and I didn't think you jumpered sata drives? Maybe that is the whole problem? When you look at the jumper positions on the drive I thought they were for 1.5/3.0 it doesn't say master slave

Well I have three 750gb seagates that are for storage only. I just opened my case and saw a jumper on the two pins on the right side.

I can't remember if I had to run the disc that came with the HD.

device manager and bios see the drive but you have to go to drive management and initialize(partition/format) for windows to see the volume.

right click on my computer>>>manage>>disk management

At times Vista can be a real pain in the royal arse.
