    Choppy Video Playback

Every time I burn a DVD I always verify that it plays correctly by closing the tray and playing the burnt DVD on my computer. I use WMP 11 and when the DVD starts both the video and audio playback are choppy. When I play the burnt DVD's on my home theater system they play just fine with no problems at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What kind of details do you need? I've got a HP Desktop with 1GB of memory and a 200GB Harddrive.

I don't know if it is some knid of streaming problem or what, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You might have a codec issue? Is dma on for the dvd drive?

Are your system resources relatively free, throwing more ram at a problem doesn't solve it.

Dma is on for the Dvd drive and the system resources are free. What kind of codec problem could it be. This problem has had me stumped for quite a while now. Here are the rest of the spec's AMD Athlon 64 3700+ processor, 1GB of Memory, 200GB HardDrive. ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series Video Card 256MG.

The files play fine off of the harddrive. I tried both WMP 11 and VLC Media Player and they both do the same thing. Any other ideas? Thanks

run a transfer test on the disk in the drive you are having trouble playing back from

Could this be an acceleration issue?

have you tried another player instead of WMP11, as if this works u can point to codecs in WMP if not then with prolly have corrupted drivers for some hardware

I tried both WMP 11 and VLC Media Player
I was thinking wmp till he said vlc, then I wanted to test the drive, this is a weird problem, maybe a burn log would show something, still thinking dma, a lot of people and windows keep being mistaken about it, we waste a lot of time goosechasing thinking it's not the problem then come back and find it was
