I am thinking about buying a new computer next week and think that this might be the one I get, but I was hoping to get some expert opinions...oh and it will come with a 22" HP LCD monitor
Would You Buy This?

throw in a graphics card and you'll be alright i ve been seeing a bunch of HP's with the onboards having driver issues skip buying the HP 22 as they are way over priced and buy an Acer 2223 22' of which i have 2 and which are better rated thru several sites, customer reviews, and IMO a much better deal for the $100+ u save check out newegg
so buy a REAL graphics card if you want to use the 22" 1680x1050 resolution as the on board nVidia GeForce 6150 chipset sucks as of neweggs prices you'll save $110 with the ACER monitor
and get a new 8800GS for $159 adn now your on your way
otherwise its a good computer for the mainstreamLast edited by NightbladeXX; 16 Feb 2008, 09:56 PM.

the heart of any computer is the motherboard and the power supply, soup and blu don't build their own but know enough to go to someone that they trust and get a good custom performance unit built. This costs more but gives you the option to keep using windows xp, imagine if you hate vista then have to wipe it and buy xp to load and then find that HP doesn't have the drivers for XP.
I would rather spend 60$ on a premium power supply, get a good asus motherboard for 130-150$, a couple of gigs of ballistix ram, drop in a mid level dual core amd, load xp and leave that HP choking in my dustLast edited by Chewy; 17 Feb 2008, 01:01 AM.Comment

At Buy.com they have a recertified HP Pavilion Elite m9040n for 699.00 which is normally priced at 1299.00. You might want to check out this computer, I do not know how you feel about recertified computers but I have bought a few in the past, and found the ones I purchased to be as good and reliable as any brand new one I ever purchased.
It is basically the same one you are looking at with an Intel Q6600 quad processor and a few other upgrades. You would have to purchase a monitor though.

I have a HP Elite m9152p w/ 8gb of memory that is probably the same computer as the one I mentioned, I am just not sure about the motherboard, but mine is the ASUS IPIBL-LB motherboard running on the Intel G33 express chispset.Last edited by copyless; 17 Feb 2008, 03:05 AM.Comment
