apparently the last test build had same problem as vista SP1.... [the continous restarting after install]

I've installed SP1 yesterday and no problems here. With this SP it feels as the beta stage is over.

@ Blu.... yes they have fixed that and another which is still tobe fixed for current systems...

@cynthia... sp1 only gets into restart loop on specific troubled systems with some specific drivers installed. also if u got sp1 with windows update ur system is free frm any such drivers. [even with such drivers sp1 runs fine.....if u dont get into loop]

With this SP it feels as the beta stage is over.

i still have my doubts, specially testing server2008, which was released with SP1 as the RTM, they say the code is very similar.... u have to test it to see the difference. if vista survives few more years it may require more then 2 service packs tobe excellent.

I'm reading more and more often comparisons between Vista and ME. I have no desire to find out for myself, so I'm hoping that SP3 will tide me over until Windows 7, which will hopefully be less of a monumental stuff-up than Vista was.

thats my problem with ppl who instead of tring for themselfs just read and agree.... i was using vista since it was in beta, thus iv almost forgot how xp was [yes my office station is xp but i use it more for word and stuff.]
anyway for me vista works fine i never had crashes, do have rare explorer crashes but it never as bad as on XP, means my system never hungs.

now somone who has used it and then says its crap i cant say anything cause everyone has a right to like or dislike

Remember when installing SP3 you have to turn off your script blocking software, if you do not it will never finalize the installation.

this is interesting, vista 64 is the fastest......even after sp1
wondering the authenticity of the benchmark.

passmark is a better benchmark for servers

course he used a phenom quad for the test

ok i know nothing bout this passmark.... how in a real world it will be like... i mean the test says vista 64 is faster then xp so in real usage, would i be able to tell the difference in terms of responsiveness and speed?

second i assume results would be same for c2d's also, or vista 64 can use 4 cores better then xp or vista 32
