OK, now I get the "Chuck Yeager beaman gum time" thing. I guess you're trying to say I'm putting serious demands on the system, and that's why I got the cpu that I did! I knew I'd be demanding.

All I did was buy memory that is listed as "recommended" by the Mobo manual and stick the dang things in. I didn't mess with any settings. Theres a page in the mobo manual that says "specifications summary" and under "overclocking" it says "Precision Tweaker Supports: DIMM voltage: 12 step DRAM voltage control"

I don't see anything in bios that says anything about "precision tweaker" or "DRAM voltage", not even under OC settings. And cpu-z doesn't tell me anything either, so I don't know what my mem voltage is set to.

If I was having serious stability issues, I'd worry about it. But I think the problem I'm having is specific to h.264 codec causing this error.

Thanks for the input though, I learned something.

Hey guys, I wanted to update this thread since I discovered a way to stop the error.

I recently discovered that I consistently get the same error just by searching for AVI files. Explorer encounters an error and needs to close, telling me that module h264codec.ax is the cause.

I have updated my ffdshow and it takes care of h264 playback so I tried an experiment. I found the h264codec.ax file (using advanced search options) and discovered it's only located in program files/Pinnacle folder. Pinnacle software came with my HDTV tuner card and I only rarely use any of the software. So, I renamed the offending .ax file by adding .bak to the filename. I've tried everything I can think of to reproduce the error but it's gone. Renaming the file doesn't seem to have messed up anything, but the error is no more.

        Try this:
        1.Open regedit.
        2.First backup your reg.
        3.Now go to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\she llex\PropertyHandler"
        4.Delete the default value.
