think about your budget, I went with a mid level no sli mobo that was rated good

the crucial memory is the best in my book

you need to decide how much you want to spend on a video card and then how many hard drives and opticals you need, 2 of each is my best formula and then size a case and power supply accordingly

good power supplies are pricey

I often get a case on special with lamer power supply

Ok. It's done as long as the mobo you posted is suited for hd/blu-ray. That we'll cross when the time comes. I'm guessing I could use regular burners in the mean time? I have 4 and using only 2 now. I have my 2 samsungs, the pioneer dvr 112d and the lg oem from dell which is still good. Regular 1's are cheap enough so if needed I could always snatch 1. The video card as long as it'll meet the hd transition and is of good quality/price also is ok 2. I'm thinking along the lines of how we're going. Main point is that I'm prepared for hd. Don't want to b left hanging in the air. It's almost june already. 2008 is 1/2 gone.

There're all good. Last 1 probably better/fancier hence pricier. I'll get back on this. Maybe either go 4 broke or midway. Either of 3 would do?

Pulled trigger on mobo and crucial. Dollar at a time.

Don't game so xtra bells and whisles not a must but 4 the price wth.

Hi Chewy. Any Experience w/screwless towers? again some like it some don't. Also I still have the 230w that came w/the dell hell and the 500w cooler master atx12vv2.01 we got the last time which is in my dell hell right now. Thinking maybe getting the lame 1 above w/400w and putting the 500w atx in that tower and the 400 in mine? Or is the combo 1 more suited for the newer mobo/build. No pata connectors though I see. maybe I'm wrong.

Psu's are a must so price not that concerned about. more concerned about case. They both look good. Some bit.h about the screwless and not being stable. Iyo is it a concern? if not and the 500w I have will suffice then I'll pull the trigger on the rosewill w/the 400w. If going the other way w/the screwless combo is better than we could go w/that.

Ok. Thnx. I'm pulling the trigger on the rosewill and on the $99 video card. $79 after rebate. The other cheaper 1 has some reviews about taking too much space w/2 slots and the the last 1 here is deactivated. Could always upgrade on psu and cards right?

bit.h. It's out of stock. ETA on the 30th. Autonotify or any other suggested 1? thnx. If size on cheaper 1 not really big deal we could go w/that.

Nothing on sale. Also have to complement processor/mobo. I auto-notified it. We're on our way.

the vid cards go in upside down and if you look at the motherboards they usually have
something lame like a pci-e 1 where the big fan and heatsink cover, no loss

I don't mean to interrupt, but my Raidmax Sagitta case is screwless and I'll have to agree with Chewy, don't let the fact that a case is screwless sway you to buy it. Seems to work fine for the disk drives, but you have to be very careful 'cause the darn things that take the place of the screws can be fragile. (I broke one easily) And also, it doesn't work so well with expansion card slots in the back. Leaves my lighting switches, and covers loose. Luckily, with the back you can still use a screw. It's not that darn difficult to use screw-type cases anyway.

Hi Chewy. just got notified that the $99 1, $69 after $10 off and $20 rebate is in stock. Since you pointed out the other 1 would pose no loss, do you suggest snatching it? It's a lil cheaper, and an upgrade is always an option.

P.S. This 1's out of stock now. Think I'll just pull the trigger on the auto-notify. An xtra $20 isn't going to break me.


@Drink or Die. Thnx for confirming about the screwless. I've always been leary about getting too fancy w/certain things. Easier/simpler doesn't always equate better.
