Opera Browser Glitches-How to Fix?

When I turn on Opera, the browser's window will, after a time, stop moving. Then, when I minimize it, and click restore, the window is empty, with the desktop showing thru it, I can get it back by clicking Maximize but the window appears frozen. When downloading a file, the file transfer will show activity in the Start toolbar, but the transfer window in the browser itself lists the file and information, but is again, frozen in place. No image rich page was on display..only the transfer window and Google in a 2nd window.
I recently performed a system restore on my pc, and did not have this problem with Opera before. I even d/led the newest version, and the same thing happens.
Is there a setting I need to adjust that will stop this from happenning? Java maybe?

never used opera but, if any application does that, well uninstall remove the directory restart and install again.
if java is the requirement for opera uninstall that too and install latest frm java.com.
hope this will fix ur problems.

Thanks. Don't know if it's Java or Javasscript. That's just something that came to mind wondering why it was happening.
