Recycle Bin

I'm aware that large files such as DVD don't always go in the Recycle Bin because they are too big but everything doesn't go in there, even a photograph. Does anyone know why I can't delete small things in there?

Is there some sort of error message that you can't delete files in the bin? Sometimes a re-creation of the bin is necessary.

I'm not getting any error message. When I have something large that's about 4GB's, they don't go in the Recycle Bin as you know because something that big can't fit in the Recycle Bin. When I delete something that big, I used to get a message afterwards (like everyone else does) that told me the file will be permanently deleted where it won't appear in the Recycle Bin. That message doesn't appear anymore. Most of the time small things like a photo even the size of 100KB's doesn't always go in the Recycle Bin when they should. I managed to see a file over 1GB appear in there about two hours after my previous message and things look better but I don't know if my PC will recycle small things sometimes. I've done scans that finished OK. I hope a file hasn't moved itself in Windows that has caused this. If it has I don't know what the file is and where to put it back. Self-moving can happen.

Ah OK. Right click on the bin, properties and tick display delete confirmation. If the bin is being by-passed totally, untick "Do not move files to the recycle bin. Remove files immediately when deleted."
