Mat****a DVD-RAM UJ-850S Region Problem

Hi folks,

I have a problem and before I make a mess of things I wanted to run it by you guys ...

I just tried playing my "Crossroads" Eric Clapton Guitar Festival 2007 dvd on my new Laptop that comes with Cyberlink Power DVD Suite 5.0 and I got the pop-up saying What Region?

Now, I did not want to set the darn Region without doing some checks and see if I can make it Region-Free.

Well as my luck has it this piece of crap "Mats-h-i-t-a DVD-RAM UJ-850S with FirmWare 1.60 has Terrible reviews ... and it supposed to be a cheapy Panasonic/Matsuhsita/Mats-h-i-t-a product ... that are famous for having Region Locks.

Anyway, I also ran a test and I got this Pop up message

" Logical Unit Region Code has not been set! This can cause errors when trying to run this program (luk). Would you like to set the Region Code now? "

Q1: Should I have said yes to set the Region Code (to whatever that my reegion is)?

Q2: Does anyone know how ot make this UJ-850S dvd player, burner Region Free? BTW, rpc1 has no cure for this!!!

I don't know about rental ... but is about 4 1/2 hour plus long.
