AVG 8.0 Free Error: "A bin file is missing"

I got this error when updating my AVG 8.0 free today.

It appears to be an error on AVG's end.

EDIT: I did a repair install and a complete install and it still was not fixed. Then I googled it and found out it is only a problem today

Kill AVG 8 mate. It's been fulla bugs since it was released.

I was a loyal and happy 7.5 user who now uses AVAST. They have terrific customer service btw, responding to emails within 24 hours. The only drawback is the lack of scheduling full scans, but this is not a biggie.

I also got that error and tried to do a manually update. I still like AVG...

It's still installed on Firey's machine (where she got the error, too). Blecch.

no problem updating today!

error message is now gone!

This morning, I clicked on the update 1616 associated with the bin error and it loaded fine and the problem went away on both my machines.

But still, AVG has been going down hill, not as devoted as they used to be.
